HERE ARE SOME TIPS FOR POWER DRESSING IN BLACK AND BEIGE – ONE OF MY FAVORITE CLASSIC MIX OF COLORS.
When you’re short of ideas — you may have a meeting with clients, you’re giving a presentation or for a regular day at work — think of black and beige. Always a classic!
It’s elegant and perfect for a business context.
Whether you have a beige blazer, skirt or pants in your closet, use these two combinations to inspire your own outfits!
THESE FEW TIPS FOR POWER DRESSING WILL HELP YOU BUILD YOUR OWN COMBINATIONS FOR A NICE FINISHING TOUCH.
I like to combine beige and cream colors with gold tone jewelry. So think ‘warm’ colored metals with ‘warm’ colored clothing.
Combo 1 — Since every item is black aside from the skirt, I chose a sheer dark grey pantyhose instead of opaque black tights – makes it more feminine. This is even more applicable if you wear this outfit with black shoes instead of boots.
Combo 2 — Adding a cream top lightens up the look quite a bit. So I was looking for something else than black pantyhose. The grey and beige opaque tights bring a nice element of style.
Other options: Sheer pantyhose in a nude, black or grey tone.
Combo 1 — Instead of over-the-knee boots, riding style boots will also fit very well.
Combo 2 — When wearing opaque socks I have a preference for matching them with shoes with a rounder toe or platform shoes. The pointy toe or stiletto will not fit as well. The reason is you want to balance ‘heavy’ tights with a less delicate shoe. The reverse does not apply though…sheer tights or pantyhose CAN be worn with a heavier shoe.
Combo 2 — Since I brought in the grey tone with the opaque tights, the grey belt was a better choice than the light brown one.
Other option: A black belt will also go well with both combinations.
